Rare Vintage 1950s Uzbek Silk Tunic Midi Dress
Details
An unusual, rare, and beautiful Uzbek silk midi dress which we believe dates to around the 1950s based on the way it has been made. Uzbekistan has a rich history in producing attractive colourful clothing, and the abstract, multicoloured design looks to have been made using an Asian ikat technique. With a broad, dagger-style collar, the dress has a relaxed shape to it, with a back zip and hand-stitching in various sections. A wonderful piece of vintage Middle Eastern textile history with a bohemian flavour that could be styled in various ways.
