Antique Late Victorian Black Floral Lace Cape | Gothic Evening Wear
Details
A beautiful late Victorian antique jacquard-woven cape seeped in storied history and ready for even more. Handmade with a high pleated ruffled collar, pretty floral lace flounces across the shoulders and a ribbon bow that tie around the neck. You can imagine a Victorian lady wearing this cape over a dress for a night at the theatre, though the piece could also have been worn more informally or perhaps for mourning. It remains wearable today as a unique layering piece, especially for the Gothic Romantic look, whilst also having deep historical and archival value.
